Abstract

This article seeks to critically examine how the practice of dhikr piety is projected in the midst of contemporary societal conditions that tend to experience a crisis of existence and spirituality. This is marked by the disappearance of conscience sensibility and appreciation in the way a person practices his religious rituals, especially dhikr. The phenomenon is examined through the dynamics of the psychoanalytic debate that does not stop in the Freudian tradition. This research method belongs to the type of qualitative research, which emphasizes meaning and interpretative research that is more of a library study or library research. As a result, the research related to dhikr as an accentuation of Islamic existential-spiritualism is: The accentuation of Islamic existential-spiritualism is illustrated in the psychic dynamics of a person who always links consciousness, unconsciousness and desire to the Reality of God, so that various projections that emerge are manifested in the condition of an-nafs al- muṭmainnah (established and adequate id, ego and super-ego structures) as the thayyibah sentence in its linguistic projection (zikr bi al-lisān) and al-insān al-kāmil as a practical projection (zikr bi aljawārih).
