Abstract

This research aims to depart from circulating issues related to many cycles in classroom action research. The qualitative descriptive research method uses a type of library research or literature study by searching for information in books, journals and other media. This research produces information related to the issue of the number of cycles in classroom action research where there is no agreement among educational research experts about how many cycles there are in classroom action research. However, classroom action research usually takes place over two cycles, as for only one cycle but rare. This article contains the stages of each research cycle, including planning, implementing, observing, and then reflecting. There are differences of opinion between one scientist and another regarding the stages in classroom action research, but these stages are most often used, especially in Indonesia. In action research, the first and second cycles are common, research up to the third cycle is rare, let alone until the fourth cycle. However, it is possible if the research reaches the fourth cycle. Reflection is needed to see if there is a discrepancy with the environment in choosing an action.
