Abstract

This article which examines the implementation of educational innovations in madrasas yields several findings, namely: First, the implementation of educational innovations by the Madrasah Principal at MTsN Pangandaran is carried out through: (1) open, transparent and democratic leadership development; (2) optimizing the competency of the Madrasah Principal; (3) the development of a creative and entrepreneurship-oriented leadership spirit. The three educational innovation strategies by the Head of Madrasas in madrasas are directed at realizing a madrasah leadership system that is able to accommodate various aspirations, interests, and the dynamics of science and technology which lead to the realization of superior, quality madrasas, and rooted in Islamic values. Second, educational innovations carried out by MTsN Pangandaran teachers are implemented in the form of developing PAIKEM learning strategies and models (active, innovative, creative, effective and fun learning) and developing classroom action research competencies. These two forms of implementation of educational innovations by teachers are directed at realizing quality learning so as to realize the quality of student achievement, quality of graduates, and quality of madrasas. Madrasa administrative staff at MTsN Pangandaran implement educational innovation through efforts to strengthen the competence of madrasa administrative staff, so that education staff at this madrasa can balance the competence of teachers and principals. The ultimate goal of strengthening the competence of educational staff is to create an excellent and quality madrasah service system.
