Abstract

Total Quality Management (TQM) is the integration of all functions of the organization into a holistic philosophy that is built on the concepts of quality, teamwork, productivity and customer satisfaction. TQM has several important keywords, namely the importance of quality as the main orientation of every organization; quality must cover the whole (totality) elements of the organization; leadership as a pillar of quality development; the importance of developing human resources; and the importance of developing organizational management in a gradual and directed manner. From the perspective of Islamic education, the five TQM keywords correspond or are in accordance with the values of Islamic teachings. In Islamic teachings, quality is not only for life in this world, but also includes life in the hereafter. Islam always emphasizes its people to do the job as well as possible, so that the work is qualified (QS Al-Kahf: 30; QS An-Naml: 88; QS Al-An'am: 152; Q.S. Al-Maidah: 8; QS Az- Zumar: 9; QS Fathir: 28).
